Stan Store in India: What Indian Creators Should Know (and an India-First Alternative)

Monetive TeamPublished 11 Oct 20266 min read

Stan Store is popular with creators in the US. Before you use it in India, understand the dollar pricing, how payments and payouts work, and when an India-first store with UPI makes more sense.

Stan Store is one of the most talked-about creator stores, especially among coaches and creators in the US. It's simple, mobile-friendly and lets you sell digital products, courses and calls from your link in bio. So it's natural for Indian creators to ask: should I use Stan Store too?

This guide explains what to check before using Stan Store in India and how an India-first option compares.

Last checked: October 2026. Prices and features change often. Confirm on each company's website before you decide.

Stan Store pricing

Stan Store has two main plans, billed in US dollars:

PlanMonthlyYearlyStan's transaction fee
Creator$29/monthabout $300/year0%
Creator Pro$99/monthabout $948/year0%

Stan Store doesn't take a cut of your sales, which is a real plus. Payment processing is charged separately by the processor (Stripe or PayPal). Stripe's standard international pricing starts around 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction, and PayPal's fees are typically higher.

At around ₹97 to the dollar (October 2026), the Creator plan works out to roughly ₹2,800 a month, and Creator Pro to roughly ₹9,600, before processing fees and any foreign-currency charges on your card.

Five things to check before using Stan Store in India

  1. How you'll get paid. Stan Store pays out through Stripe or PayPal. Check whether you can open and use the account type it needs from India, how long payouts take to reach your Indian bank, and what conversion fees apply.
  2. How your buyers will pay. Most Indian buyers prefer UPI. If checkout only offers international cards or PayPal, many will drop off at payment.
  3. Currency. Prices shown in dollars feel expensive and unfamiliar to Indian buyers, even when the amount is small.
  4. Billing. Your subscription is charged in dollars, usually to an international card, and the rupee cost moves with the exchange rate.
  5. Tax paperwork. Make sure you can get the invoices and records your CA needs for GST and income tax. See GST for creators.

None of these are deal-breakers if your audience is mostly in the US or Europe. They matter a lot if your buyers are in India.

Where Stan Store is a good fit

  • Your audience is mainly international and pays comfortably by card.
  • You like a 0% transaction fee and sell enough for a fixed dollar subscription to make sense.
  • You want its course and email features and are happy with dollar billing.

The India-first alternative: Monetive

Monetive is built for creators selling to Indian buyers. Your store lives at monetive.in/@yourname, and you can sell:

  • Digital products: ebooks, templates, presets and recordings, delivered automatically after payment.
  • Courses and workshops: through payment pages with access details sent on the confirmation screen and by email.
  • 1:1 calls: paid bookings with calendar invites and slots shown in the buyer's timezone.
  • Lead magnets: free downloads that collect name, email and phone number.

Buyers pay by UPI, cards or netbanking, prices are in rupees, and you get paid to your Indian bank account or UPI ID.

Monetive pricing

PlanPricePlatform fee on sales
Free₹010%
Creator₹999/month or ₹9,599/year5%
Business₹5,999/month or ₹61,199/year2%

Plan prices are what you pay at checkout; nothing is added on top.

The platform fee is the only amount deducted from each sale; there's no separate payment-gateway charge, and you get a monthly invoice for your fees. Paid plans add Instagram AutoDM and a post scheduler.

The AutoDM advantage

Stan Store relies on followers tapping your bio link. Monetive's Creator and Business plans add AutoDM: when someone comments a keyword like "LINK" on your reel, they get a DM with your product or booking link within seconds. It also handles story replies, story mentions, DM keywords and Facebook Page comments, using Meta's official API. See the comment-to-DM guide.

Cost comparison

Plan and platform fees only (GST left out for simplicity), at around ₹97 to the dollar:

Monthly salesStan Store Creator (~₹2,800 + processing)Monetive Free (10%)Monetive Creator (₹999 + 5%)
₹10,000~₹2,800 + processing₹1,000₹1,499
₹50,000~₹2,800 + processing₹5,000₹3,499
₹1,00,000~₹2,800 + processing₹10,000₹5,999

Stan Store's 0% transaction fee gets more attractive as your sales grow, as long as your buyers can pay comfortably and your payouts work smoothly from India. Processing fees of around 3% would add about ₹3,000 on ₹1,00,000 in sales. For creators earning mainly from Indian buyers, UPI checkout usually means more people complete the payment, which matters more than the fee itself.

Which should you choose?

Choose Stan Store if most of your buyers are outside India and you're comfortable with dollar billing and Stripe or PayPal payouts.

Choose Monetive if most of your buyers are in India, you want UPI checkout and rupee payouts, and you'd like Instagram comments to turn into sales automatically.
