Linktree Alternative in India: A Link in Bio That Actually Sells
Linktree is great for listing links. But if you want followers to buy, book or sign up without leaving your bio, an India-first store with UPI checkout may fit better. Here's an honest comparison.
Linktree made "link in bio" a habit for millions of creators. It's simple, reliable and looks clean. For many Indian creators, though, a list of links is only the first step. What they really want is for a follower to tap the link and buy, book a call or download a freebie, paying by UPI, without being sent to five different websites.
This guide compares Linktree and Monetive honestly, including where Linktree is the better pick.

What Linktree does well
Be fair to Linktree. It wins when:
- You only need links. If your bio just points to YouTube, Spotify, a newsletter and a brand's website, Linktree is quick and polished.
- You want lots of integrations. Linktree connects with a huge range of music, video, newsletter and social tools.
- Your audience is mostly outside India. Dollar pricing and international payment processors are natural for a global audience.
If that describes you, Linktree is a solid choice.
Where Indian creators get stuck
Things get harder when you start selling to Indian buyers:
- Checkout and payouts. Linktree's selling features run through international payment processors. Before you rely on them, check whether your buyers can pay by UPI, and how and when money reaches your Indian bank account. Processor fees and a per-payout fee apply on top of any seller fee.
- Dollar pricing. Paid plans are priced in US dollars in most regions, so your cost moves with the exchange rate and usually needs an international card.
- Too many tools. A typical setup ends up as Linktree for the page, a separate tool for bookings, another for digital downloads, a form for leads and a DM tool for Instagram. Each one is another login, another fee and another place for a sale to break.
What Monetive does differently
Monetive is built for creators in India who sell. Your bio link becomes a store at monetive.in/@yourname where people can:
- Buy digital products: ebooks, templates, presets, recordings and courses, delivered automatically after payment.
- Book paid calls: they pick a slot in their timezone, pay upfront, and both of you get calendar invites.
- Grab a freebie: a lead magnet that collects name, email and phone number before the download.
- Pay the way Indians pay: UPI, cards and netbanking at checkout.
You get paid to your Indian bank account, and you can see every sale, buyer and payout in one dashboard.
The Instagram part: AutoDM
Most Instagram sales start with a comment or a DM, not a bio tap. People see a reel, comment "LINK", and wait. If they wait too long, they forget.
On Monetive's Creator and Business plans, AutoDM replies to those comments automatically with a DM containing your product, booking or freebie link, usually within seconds. It also works for story replies, story mentions and DM keywords, and for Facebook Page comments through Messenger. It runs on Meta's official API (Monetive is a Meta Tech Provider).
That's the biggest practical difference: Linktree waits for people to visit your bio, while Monetive goes to them in the DMs. Read the comment-to-DM guide to see how it works.
Pricing side by side
Linktree has a free plan and paid plans (Starter, Pro and Premium) billed monthly or yearly, priced in US dollars in most regions. Its pricing page says seller fees drop to 0% on Pro, with payment processing and a small per-payout fee on top. Check linktr.ee for current prices in your region.
Monetive bills in rupees:
| Plan | Price | Platform fee on sales | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | ₹0 | 10% | Store, products, bookings, lead magnets, payment pages |
| Creator | ₹999/month or ₹9,599/year | 5% | Everything in Free, plus AutoDM and the post scheduler for 1 Instagram account (Facebook Page add-on available) |
| Business | ₹5,999/month or ₹61,199/year | 2% | Everything in Creator, for up to 10 Instagram or Facebook accounts |
Plan prices are what you pay at checkout; nothing is added on top.
On the free plan you pay nothing until you make a sale. Once you sell regularly, a lower fee on a paid plan usually saves more than it costs. See pricing.
Who should choose which?
Choose Linktree if you mainly share links, your audience is global, and you don't sell much directly.
Choose Monetive if you sell (or want to sell) products, calls or courses to Indian buyers, want UPI checkout and payouts in rupees, and want Instagram comments to turn into DMs with your link automatically.
Some creators use both for a while: Linktree for general links, and a Monetive store link at the top for anything people can buy.
